NACHTMYSTIUM: More 'Doomsday Derelicts' MCD Details Revealed

May 12, 2009

Battle Kommand Records has announce the label's first in-house CD release in over a year: the brand new MCD from Chicago's purveyors of psychedelic blackened metal NACHTMYSTIUM, entitled "Doomsday Derelicts". The release was arranged in cooperation with Century Media Records, NACHTMYSTIUM's home label in the United States.

"Doomsday Derelicts" features four brand new tracks that in part pay homage to the band's metal heroes: BEHERIT, AUTOPSY, MERCYFUL FATE, DARKTHRONE and PROFANATICA, to name but a few. Thus, the outcome is much more aggressive than the preceding full-length. "Doomsday Derelicts" was recorded at the world-renowned Electrical Audio Studio in Chicago (owned and operated by Steve Albini of BIG BLACK / SHELLAC / RAPEMAN fame) and was engineered and co-produced by Sanford Parker, the man behind the controls on NACHTMYSTIUM's highly-acclaimed 2008 full-length "Assassins: Black Meddle Pt. 1".

"Doomsday Derelicts" track listing:

01. Bones
02. Life of Fire
03. Hellish Overdose
04. Pitch Black Cadence

Recording lineup:

Blake Judd - Lead and rhythm guitars, vocals
Jeff Wilson - Rhythm guitars
Jon Necromancer - Bass, backing vocals
Sanford Parker - Moog, synth, effects
Zack Simmons - Drums, percussion

NACHTMYSTIUM is currently preparing for a U.S. tour with doom legends PENTAGRAM, which begins in Chicago on June 27.

NACHTMYSTIUM's latest full-length album, "Assassins: Black Meddle Part I", was released on June 10, 2008 via Century Media Records in North America and June 23, 2008 through Candlelight Records in Europe.

The "Assassins..." full-length was recorded in December 2007 at Sanford Parker's Volume Studios (RWAKE, MINSK, LAIR OF THE MINOTAUR, PELICAN) and showcases NACHTMYSTIUM's most prolific and expansive sounds to date. The record features Tony Laureano (ANGELCORPSE, NILE, DIMMU BORGIR) on drums, and guest appearances by members of PHARAOH and YAKUZA.
